Day 1 of my seven day fast is almost in the books. Having done many one day fasts before, I’ve not had any problem abstaining from food. Caffeine though? That’s been a different story.
I probably should have thought the whole caffeine issue through a little better and spent the last few days minimizing it because going cold turkey on the caffeine has been the worst part of this day by far. Since I’m not allowing anything into my body but distilled water for the entire week, I’m opting to suffer through the pain instead of taking a few aspirin.
It hurts. It sucks. It will probably be fine tomorrow.. so such is life.
I was tempted to skip out on posting my starting photo because I put on more fat this last week than I’ve seen all year. It’s the first time the outline of my abs hasn’t been present. The area around my belly-button looks fatter than I’ve seen it in a long time. I’m in a bit of disbelief as to how quickly I can put fat on when I disregard the rules for a few days.
I didn’t feel like I was too crazy with the calories but the last four days have most definitely added up and made a difference in my body composition. In any case, it will be interesting to see what seven food-free days has me looking like.
