July 18, 2012:
I’m getting there.. slowly but surely. I still have a some work to do in getting the body fat down to my goal level this year. The diet and exercise are on auto-pilot this month. I haven’t switched up much.. just doing some carb cycling, maintaining all clean calories and working extra hard in the gym. The scale showed 158.8 this morning. That’s still a shocking number to see, after not seeing anything even in the 160s since being 19 years old! I’m down about a full pound from the below picture, taken at the end of June.
This is the current progress I have made, starting January 1, 2012 up until the end of June/beginning of July. As you can see, the difference has been substantial. I’ll keep posting as the year progresses. My goal is to get considerably leaner yet and make those abs really show.
That’s six months of hard work and dieting and this pic from last year represents where I started from (I was actually about 10 pounds heavier than this pic but I tried to avoid the camera and didn’t have many pics to choose from).
The Road to Losing FAT
The first 30 days were no fun at all. I fought with a lot of doubt that I could get back in the shape I wanted as well as a lack of strength and endurance that made every workout seem longer and harder.
The second month was actually the hardest for me. That’s when my food/sugar cravings really hit me hard and again, I dealt with a lot of doubt in wondering if I really could maintain a healthy diet for the time I knew it was going to take.
After that, things got easier, my strength kept increasing, I got excited about working out again and I started seeing change!
I’ve been fortunate in that I haven’t got sick or injured this year. It’s really helped my progress. Check out my 30 day fitness challenge to see exactly what I did to achieve results in June.
My current progress has me really excited to see what I can continue to accomplish in the coming year!
